New tack pieces and some kind of show

Last week, a historic figures show was held in Coueron, France and I was here to show my horses on my mother's club table. In France, model horse hobby is quite new, we are just a few of serious collectors and we really try to find our place in our country. This show was really interesting, with a lot of beautiful figures and a lot of meetings. In fact, I was invited to the Sèvres figures show and not just to expose.

Giant horses with mini humans

I also continue making tack. I made a bridle for my Hart of Thor resin, a new western saddle pad and my first saddleseat saddle. I am quite satisfied with it and I think I just need a few work to make correct ones and maybe, other english saddles. For my customers, I finished the red and tan portuguese set, began an other set green and tan, and finally, a silver and black bridle.

The historic set is also finished, and has been sent to its owner who painted for me my Holly Grail: the Stone half-passing warmblood. I received that gorgeous guy which is now mine. I can't believe I finally got him!

And now, I'm waiting for my buckles to finish all my work and make some new projects with a lot of harnesses.

Orders and personal projects

I'm selling some tack to friends, I'm not known in the hobby, but in fact I begin to make an order book or I will never see where I am in my orders. I talked about the portuguese saddle in the previous article and this one is set in pause for the moment. But I began an other set, inspired by the tack on this painting by David:
Equestrian portrait of the count Stanislaw Potocki
It comes like this:
I based my work on an old French saddle, still used in the Cadre Noir de Saumur. It is used for basic dressage. I also made a halter for my mother's birthday. I'm lucky to have parents that also make miniatures.

New saddle in the studio

I make some saddles to sale it. The next one is an order for a friend from the French model horse forum. I make it with rust leather, dark red velvet for the seat and golden buckles and decorations. It will fit the Vincenzo resin, but I don't have this model. So I build it on my Totilas model, my friend said that it is the closer sized model.

I am also making a dancing egyptian horse costume. It is for me, just a test to fit my CM Sham. I think it is the best tack for him. I just need buckles and (again) nail heads to finish it. And, just for fun, a picture of my tack room, a little messy, like a lot of tack rooms but I really like it.

Akhal Teke tack, part 2

Finally, it's done! I ordered the missing nail art decorations around three weeks ago but I had a problem with the post service: they lost my check --" So, the set was set in pause, waiting for the last part but not the least. But now, I finished it and here it is! My Elrohir with his entire turkish bridle.
My next project: trying to make an Egyptian dancing horse tack. I have a beautiful Sham, CMed by a friend, and I don't see anything but this kind of tack on him.

Akhal Teke tack, part 1

After a time of "nothing to do", someone posted on the French model horse forum a couple of images of a kind of medieval tack but also an Akhal Teke traditional tack. it makes me think about my capacity to make one for my own Akhal stallion, Elrohir Felagund (in fact, his name is elvish for "Fire Legend"). and after a lot of researches, voilà!
Just the first part, all the bling is still missing and I need to recut the breast collar, which is a bit too large comparing to real ones. I made the choice of "just" three collars but I have seen horses with 4 or 5 collars on their neck. Unfortunately, I don't have any Akhal Teke resin, but I think I will add it to my wishlist because it os a very fascinating and beautiful breed, even for me, a real baroque horses fan!

I also have restocked my nailheads to decorate the set, and ask for samples of three different kinds of leather laces. I have other projects on my to-do list, including a Friesian presentation bridle.
